What is the most annoying thing about wearing cosmetics?

  1. On July 1st, 2023, Reddit enacted a greedy ass policy regarding the use of their API. This decision was designed to eliminate the better 3rd party apps. No one wants to use the official app because it sucks. Since then, apps such as Apollo and RedditIsFun have shut down. Reddit has decided to double down on their decision to overcharge for their API, and refuses to address the accessibility features their native app lacks.

Think it’s an asshole move? Concerned users should read and sign on to this [open letter to reddit.](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/13xh1e7/an_open_letter_on_the_state_of_affairs_regarding/)

  2. Not knowing if it’s right for me until after I’ve paid good money.

Looking at you, expensive “dry touch, anti-shine, oil-free” La Roche Posay sunscreen that makes me look like a puddle of grease.

  3. I hate dropping my favorite pressed powder products.

they break the cake and now i have to deal with the messy,

I know you can kinda repair them but darn it all!

  4. Having to remove them at the end of the day, and also having to deal with random people’s unsolicited opinions on how I look.

  5. Forgetting it’s on and rubbing your eye/nose or scratching your face

Washing your face thoroughly, and then having to take another minute to get the rest of the mascara off

  6. One of my eyes randomly watering excessively and ruining my undereye concealer + powder… it’s impossible to fill in the gap seamlessly

  7. I have oily skin and large pores, so everything looks like crap within an hour of application. I’ve tried high-end makeup, I’ve tried theatrical makeup, I’ve tried dozens of primers and sprays and setting powders and blotting sheets, I’ve gotten my makeup done professionally, I’ve tried all kinds of skincare products… nothing really helps. I found one smudge-proof eyeliner that actually worked (hell, that stuff wouldn’t even come off in the shower) and they immediately discontinued it. I used to do touch-ups multiple times a day, but now I usually don’t wear anthing.

  8. I rarely wear makeup, only for special occasions. When I do wear it, honestly as I’m applying it I feel like a fucking imposter. Why do I feel I won’t be accepted as I am without a face full of goop when going to a special event?

When singer Alicia Keys stopped wearing makeup, even for tv and concert appearances a few years back, she was my hero. I’m working on this aspect of myself.

  9. Mascara that lasts through a visit to the dentist. Specifically mascara. If my mouth is open for too long, my right eye will water continiously (try explaining *that* to new dentist! No, you’re not hurting me. My eye just does that)for up to 10 minutes after I close my mouth. Even my mascara that doesn’t smudge with heavy work out sweat doesn’t make it through the dentist.

  10. Having hypohydrosis on my face so it melts off 5 minutes later. I physically can’t even wear makeup unless it’s winter and/or cold outside 😪

  11. Removing it at night!

Makeup remover wipes are useless garbage. Oil cleaning gives me styes. Balms are icky because you have to stick your hand in a tub.

  12. Oh man.

That I’m sick, depressed, unprofessional or going through something if I just don’t want to wear it one day. It’s so much added work men don’t have to do. And if we do it “wrong” by someone’s arbitrary definition, we get judged on it.
