I’m more of a glam girl: eye lashes, heels, nails, full makeup – that’s when I feel the most dressed. But my boyfriend recently said to me he prefers the girl next door look – apart from natural/no makeup, what other components are there?

  1. Basically the low-profile, more modest look. Like picture a church girl. Naturally pretty face and not that make up.

  2. parctical, comfy, everyday clothes i guess. She lives next door, you see her every day. So its not like you only remember the day she went to prom. You remember her from going to school with first class beeing sports etc.

  3. First she needs to be a girl. Next, she needs to live in a residence immediately next to mine. That pretty much covers it.

  4. The girl from the ATT commercials kind of has the girl next door look. Maybe Sandra Bullock when she was younger. That’s the kind of look that I think of but we all had different neighbors so everybody probably has a different girl next door in mind.

  5. Make-up is good, BUT, forget the mascara or falsies (lashes and nails), not loud bright lipstick and just some foundation. I don’t know what climate you live in, but clothing like a T-shirt under loose fashionable overalls or a simple summer frock. Possibly look at your current wardrobe and drop it down its glam by one or two levels. If you have long hair, don’t wear it up unless it is in a messy bun. Try pig tales and maybe plaits (not a flash cult-like French Braids). I have a “Glam” friend and even her fiancee hasn’t seen her without make-up. She was impressed that I noticed she had switched from mascara to false eyelashes. Relevance? There is no way she would consider trying the girl next door look, so be honest with your boyfriend if it just isn’t you.

  6. Cute. Lives next door or at least within 5 mins walking distance. Doesn’t dress like a hoe, more of a casual (but still good fashion sense) girl. Very small amount of makeup, sometimes just that eye flick thing, very natural look otherwise. I imagine her as being slightly tomboyish, but not to “is she a lesbian?” levels, she’s still a woman, just a woman a guy can easily connect with. A face that’s more cute than hot, if that makes sense.

  7. 99% oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon, calcium and phosphorus.Another five elements make up about 0.85% of the remaining mass: sulfur, potassium, sodium, chlorine, and magnesium.

  8. I would say someone who doesn’t want to be “done up”, not just make up but looks and acts like she doesn’t care but still pretty. Wholesome, down to earth type…?

  9. I *think* (and I only think, I don’t know for sure; it’s a very silly idiom, if you ask me) it’s meant to mean a girl who is wholesome, down-to-earth, even-tempered, and perhaps most importantly, easy to approach and easy to talk to.

Like Betty. Do kids still read Archie? Or are they only aware of it because of CW-Riverdale? Help me out here.
