seeing this trend on tiktok was so funny to me because i don’t think i have thought about the roman empire in YEARS lmao
Often but I’m a history nerd.
Every goddamn night.
Every single day.
When someone brings it up.
I primarily build medieval LEGO MOC. I have been building LEGO custom Roman Senators and gladiator minifigures this past couple of weeks. 😹 Currently trying to part out chariots.
I had a ridiculous amount of books on the Roman Empire in my personal home library, and additionally, one of my grandfathers was a Greek master carpenter and taught me a lot about the different crafting and building materials used in ancient Greece and Rome. In school, I was head of props and inventory for our professional theater group so also spent a great deal of time learning about the architecture, fabrics, clothing, hairstyles, art, combat styles and lifestyles of ancient Rome and made many costumes and props relating to that period.
Every now and then.
I do think about it kinda often, but I also walk past Roman ruins a lot.
Weekly. I listen to a lot of podcasts, including history podcasts.
Lol. Not about roman Empire but constantly about Greeks. Just this week I told my husband
Me – “All empires have fallen for the love of a woman ”
Husband – o.O ?!- silence
I think a LOT about World War II alternate histories, lives rent free in my head most days.
I’m Greek, so I am actually a decedent of Rome, Eastern Rome is a very important part of our history and culture. The Eastern portion of the empire survived a thousand years after the fall of its western half, the cultural impact it had on us is basically inescapable, and tied deeply into relegion etc. So quite often.
In terms of the Latin Rome of antiquity, not so much
I think about it a lot. It was always one of my favourite history subjects. I’ve read a lot of the literature of the time in translation (Tacitus, Julius Caesar, Suetonius, Livy etc.) and I’ve visited a LOT of Roman remains (Rome itself, Bath, Pompeii, Herculaneum etc.). In fact we have a mosaic that’s just been discovered up the other end of our little town and we’re booked in for a tour the week after next before it gets covered up again.
I often watch history and archaeology programmes which frequently deal with Roman remains. I’ve read a lot of history books and novels (Graves, Harris) about the Romans.
I would say the Roman Empire is woven into the warp and woof of my mental and cultural life.
I don’t have TikTok though so I have no idea why it’s a thing at the moment.
Literally never
I’m working on my Masters in History so I may not be the best person to ask, but at least a couple times a week.
Once a week at least. Definitely much more than my partner (I asked him.)
Every now and then. A few years ago probably daily. But now so many things happen in my life it just doesn’t really clme.up anymore.
I did today because of final jeopardy
Why would I even think about it?
Every day. Same with the Greeks of old, *you know the ones I mean…*
Every other day because my partner (male) brings it up since apparently it’s at the top of his head lol
Roughly five times a week, sometimes more.

Pretty often, I like to read books about mythology. Currently I’m into Norse mythology, and I’ll think about how the stories compare for example.
