I’m a UX designer with over two decades of experience. I’m planning to make the move from Sydney, Australia to the USA (green card).
So I’m looking for advice on places within East Coast city that not only has a thriving IT market but also offers plenty of UX design job opportunities. Additionally, I’m curious about the state of IT remote work. How common is it, and how well does it work for UX designers?
I’m also toying with the idea of setting up my own consulting design agency https://razzmic.com/ I’d love to hear your thoughts on the pros and cons of working for yourself versus working for a company in the USA.
As for potential cities, I’ve been eyeing a few options like Washington DC (though it seems like there might be fewer job opportunities there), Boston, NYC (though it’s on the pricey side), and North Carolina. If you have any insights or recommendations on these cities or others, please share your wisdom! The easiest connection to the EU is a must have.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
