Do you know when you’ve developed “dad strength” or is it just commented on by others?

  1. What if dad strength. I’ve been a dad for years, never heard this phrase.

Do you mean old man strength?

  2. When you make a heroic move to catch a kid or lift something heavy to prevent them from getting hurt. Then afterwards wonder how the heck did I do that?!

Old man strength is gained after a few decades of exerting your dad strength.

  3. Dad strength and mama bear strength are the same thing, basically adrenaline is one hell of a drug and pushes our bodies past our limits in order to protect the next generation.

However I’m a string bean and had an easier time lifting break drums than my co worker who was a gym bro. My muscles were developed on the farm, throwing out square bales, lifting buckets of grain, and fixing machinery and thus are much more dense and less showy. His being developed for show are weaker when it comes to some practical working cases.

  4. Dad strength is just old man strength. Happens as you age. Also something that speeds it up is carrying around the 40lb car carrier with the 7lb lump of flesh inside it. That’s dad strength.

  5. Not sure if I have dad strength yet but I do have oldman weather strength. I get overheated and hot really quick. like any bit of humidity and im melting and uncomfortable. Soon as the weather breaks Im in shorts etc. But now Ive caught myself wearing pants in the summertime humidity and feeling fine while others are melting.
