Becoming socially comfortable is like building strength, it takes practice and repetition. Start small and get comfortable in your interactions, do it over and over until you think “I have this!”
If you want to build your confidence you will need to learn the non-verbal communications. When you can read other people’s body language with confidence you will be able to navigate social situations and conversations wherever you find yourself.
I worked at a sports bar and would read up on who was playing and that sort of thing. You could discuss current events happening in your area for topics.
