Being a socially awkward woman, what career line did you choose, what problems did you face and how did you overcome them?

  1. Data Science, it pushed me to be more socially capable just so I can interact with the socially-inept men in the field. It’s just extra hard to break that glass ceiling because you’re often the only woman in the team. But it’s a great career if you’re not a social butterfly, you sit down and code for hours and nobody bothers you.

  2. teaching! it did help with having to be a problem solver and kinda more diplomatic (with both students and parents). also, it helped me a bit (and still helping) with public speaking and addressing a small crowd.

the only problem i faced was the fact that i’m blunt, but i learned how to be more proper with people.
