I absolutely hate ghosting and never do that myself. Not talking about online conversations that fade away (guilty), but people you have met with IRL one or several times who just never respond. When you have sent the last message, how many hours/days/weeks with no reply before you conclude you’ve been ghosted?

  1. It varies. I mean, I have longterm established friends where we may not message each other for weeks or months, then pick up where we left off.

Newer people, I guess after a few weeks I would move on. But also, stuff happens in people’s lives. I would hear them out of there was a reason.

We live in an era where people have an unreasonable expectation that people will be constantly and instantly contactable. It’s not ghosting if it’s only been a few days, imho.

  2. Really depends on context, where you met, if you’ve been actively seeing each other, what was the agreed upon arrangement etc. I think a few weeks and you can be sure that they ghosted, but if you’ve been actively dating (I.e. seeing each other a few times a week for months) then after a week or 2 of nothing is probably ghosting
