So I’ve got two weeks off from work at the moment and am not sure what to do with my time? I’m in the south London area, can’t afford any big trips or anything but don’t want to waste the time I have off. Its been a very stressful time at work recently and this has been a very much-needed time off.

I’ve already gutted my place and cleared up, done some baking, looked for new jobs – I can’t seem to rest! Is there anything you would do with this time or have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

  1. Spend a few days doing the typical London (free) tourist stuff. I suggest trying out some “too good to go” bags (cheap bags of restaurant leftovers you can buy from the too good to go app) for lunch etc to keep it cheap but still interesting.

Beyond that maybe try to start a hobby, like geocaching or photography, whatever you are interested in.

  2. Me personally ? I’ve haven’t been able to game properly in some time – just like game for days – since lockdown. So that. Starfield, Cyberpunk etc

If I was a normal non-gamer I’d probably go do a couple trips up central with friends or solo. Do a big walk in Richmond park would probably be on my list, maybe go see something I haven’t in Central to do with history. Maybe catch a football game at a lower league London football team.

I also if I was you, not put pressure on ‘making the most’ of the two weeks. Do whatever makes you happy and relaxed.

  3. I’m enjoying 2 weeks ‘holiday’ right now as I’m on garden leave.

This week: 1 day to v&a museum, 1 day to British museum, 1 day to Hampton court palace with a riverside long walk and 1 day to ham house with riverside long walk (national trust is giving away free tickets right now so no need to pay the normal £14 entrance)

Plan for next week: 1 day to London west end to watch a musical, 1 day to Borough market to enjoy some nice food. Still thinking about what to do for the other 3 days, maybe more free museums in London.

Honestly this feels so awesome as these places are much quieter during weekdays and outside school holidays!

  4. Relax, spend some time doing free stuff nearby you wouldn’t have time to do (museums etc) and maybe find a new hobby

  5. Same boat – main goal is I’m going to up the fitness and get a proper routine going. Some days I might also do a couple of decent walks and find somewhere for breakfast/lunch. Spend a day or 2 going to some national trust places. Couple of days of pajamas, pizza and PlayStation – with the cats (after a workout in the morning)

  6. Try doing some Yoga and Mediation as you clearly need to learn how to switch off and just enjoy doing nothing. Yoga is relaxing and a good form of exercise, and there’s plenty of free content to be found on YouTube.
