Eww.
I don’t think I’ve ever eaten at Red Lobster. I don’t believe this will entice me to start.
I think I’ve had this before so they must have taken it off and now they’re bringing it back.
I like it.
Sounds interesting, but spendy.
You know the old joke: “sex is like pizza; even when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good”? This is the prison sex of pizza.
I’d try it, lol. I don’t think it’ll be all that good, but I’ll try anything at least once.
I’ve had shrimp pizza in the Bahamas which was amazing, so I suppose this could work.
On the other hand, it’s Red Lobster and they’re not particularly great in general
Good for them. I don’t eat seafood and am nowhere near a red lobster. But I fully support making new dishes.
Doesn’t harm anyone, why not? I’ve never eaten at one and this isn’t what will draw me there, but I can think of a lot worse things. Lobster mac and cheese exists and this is barely any different, just some bread and tomato sauce thrown in the mix.
Darden, Red Lobster’s parent company who also owns Olive Garden, has been failing for some time. From the late 1990’s to the housing market crash of 2008 they pumped a ton of cash into their locations to ‘upscale’ the brand image without bothering to improve the menu. Result? They’ve positioned themselves above the market and they’re locked into that. Two years ago it was BOGO dinners, a sure sign of desperation, and now this.
When their stock price starts to whirlpool down they’ll start closing the most unprofitable locations and hiring bankruptcy lawyers.
*shrug*
Not like I eat there anyway.
Haven’t they always had this. Maybe it is regional because I have had this at Red Lobster at least a decade ago. It is delicious.
Is the crust made of cheddar Bay biscuits?
Couldn’t careless. Doesn’t effect my life at all.
Lobster pizza is fine, the problem is the red lobster
I’ve not “felt” anything about Red Lobster since the 90s. They almost died as they transitioned their meals to be mostly sauce and seasonings and minor proteins .
If I’m going to eat a lobster bisque, it’s going to have more than 1oz of lobster for a 28.00 tag.
I haven’t physically seen a Red Lobster in like 20 years. I honestly thought they had gone out of business long ago.
But hey, if there are a few of them still around, and they want to introduce a lobster pizza? Good on them. I hope it sells well. I always liked Red Lobster as a kid.
I feel like Red Lobster is going to throw out any kind of ridiculousness to try and stay in business.
It’s like putting caviar on pizza. Why the fuck ruin an expensive ingredient like that‽
I’m down with seafood on pizza, just not sure the proprietor of said pizza should be RL
I’ve had crab on pizza. [See Chesapeake](https://bottomsuppizza.com/menus/). I’ve also had crab lasagna. I imagine lobster would be good.
Look how they massacred my boy
I’d love to give this a try next time I go there. I only go to Red Lobster about once a year but I really enjoy it when I do go.
I have a complete lack of surprise and am sure it will be a hit, but I have no intent to eat it.
Haven’t they had this as an app for a long time?
I’m convinced that Red Lobster has molds in the shape of all their seafood and uses that fake seafood crap to make it.
Growing up, Red Lobster was “fancy dinner out” time, we got dressed up and everything. My parents were NOT good cooks and weren’t exactly rolling in money so I can see how they would think this.
After moving out, I learned to cook, I got a great job, I started going to good restaurants. I was in NYC, I had access to a bunch of them. Red Lobster, Chili’s, Applebees… they all are what they are. I can find better food at the same price point so I won’t eat there but I can also understand why people like them.
All that aside, those cheddar bay biscuits are the shit. I make a copycat recipe of them at home all the time.
Try anything once and that’s probably a one and done.
Unless I’m going through some massive Mandela Effect, they’ve always had it. I swear I’ve tried it a couple of times. Red Lobster is the only one of those casual dining restaurant chains that I enjoy once in a while.
Wolf Gang Puck had a timeless smoked salmon pizza
So 🤷
Lobster on pizza already exists
No
I didn’t know this existed, and don’t eat at red lobster, but if people want it, they’ll buy it.
What does it matter to me that I would have any sort of “feeling” about it?
I’d try it. One of my favorite pizza places from back home has a seafood pizza I love.
They have lobster and langostino pizza as a starter.
Sounds fine to me, dominos makes wilder seafood pizzas overseas so eh
It can’t be weirder than the seafood pizza at pizza hut.
We really love our ocean roaches 🙂
My feelings on Red Lobster haven’t changed.
That restaurant is a dumpster fire and now that you can buy the cheddar biscuit mix at Publix, the sole justification for it existing is now null and void.
Though it’ll be interesting to watch them add pizza to the list of things they can’t cook properly.
I’m from Boston, and yes, I am drunk enough to try it.
I don’t want to sound like a stereotypical New Yorker complaining about pizza but you can’t make it so easy for me to do so
Sounds like jumping the shark.
But fuck it, why not?
