(F) 22, So basically I got drunk the other night and stayed up late talking to some guy, we got on really well and I asked him on a date, he said yes – we planned what we would do and he gave me his number.
Because he seemed a little more unsure than me and I’m aware he’s not one for dating – I gave him my number and told him that it’s in his hands, I won’t be offended if he doesn’t call or anything but will leave it up to him because I knew I’d wake up in the morning, sober and still wanna go on a date with him.
He then passed it back to me and told me it was equally up to me … and now I don’t know what to do – we’ve texted a little but he doesn’t seem too interested. I’m not sure if he’s just a little awkward or if he regrets the entire thing … which is fine!! I just wanna know what’s happening.
What do I do? Do I message him and ask if he’s still wanting to go out, or just leave it and let it go. He’s a family friend so I don’t want it to be awkward at any get togethers or anything which is why I’ve emphasised (even when drunk) that if we go out and it doesn’t work, it’s fine, I won’t make anything awkward and until we figure out what’s going on, it stays quiet from everyone around us.
Thinking of messaging saying that I don’t know how much he remembers from that night, but I’m still willing to go out if he wants. But not to feel any pressure to go or not to go due to the fact he’s friends with my family – I’m not the type of person to hold anything against him. If that makes sense?
