My husband’s birthday Is coming up and since becoming a stay at home mom, I try to do an act of service for his birthday/fathers day etc. Buying a present felt like “happy birthday! Look what you bought yourself!” For Father’s day this year I detailed his truck, inside and out. I’m coming up blank for his birthday this year. I feel like anything sex related is cop-out, he’s not big into baked goods, and I just planned a special, child free date night where I cooked and elaborate dinner for him, so that feel reduant. So now I’m coming here to hopefully get some ideas from other men. What is an act of service you would love from a partner? Thank you all for your advice!

  2. Is there anything you liked to do before as a couple and now you’re just too tired because of kids etc? Concerts, clubbing/dancing, some kind of activity?

My mental load is so high I just appreciate when my wife plans something like that for us and takes care of it all.

  3. You know that one chore he really dreads having to do? Let him have a week off from it.

Also, he would probably really like a back rub.

  4. nothing wrong with keeping it simple.

order his favorite movie, cook his favorite meal, with a nice full body massage after, including a foot massage.. good sex after.

as a hard working man, i know i’d love that.

  5. As someone who’s been on both sides of the SAHP role you need to get over the “look what you bought yourself.” The money is *family* money, not his.
