Have just found out there were bats roosting in my place and only through researching online, that they are protected species and can’t be relocated.

Which had me wonder, is this common?

  1. In the country it is! I think most people just don’t know they’ve got them. It’s fairly obvious if you’ve got an open porch; you see the droppings and wing cases.

  2. Not sure if they’re nesting in my house (I don’t think so) but every night at dusk if I open the back door and it sets off the motion light it attracts all of the insects and then bats start making runs back and forth along the row of houses eating the insects.

    Really cool to watch.

  3. Not in my house but if I go in my garden around dusk I usually see a few bats flying around my garden. I think they’re cute. I don’t know where they actually live.

  4. Yeah, we’ve bats in our loft.

Had them a couple of houses ago as well.

    They don’t cause any damage.
