How often do you visit them?

  1. Half a block. I bring my cat there to hang out when it’s nice out, and I’m at the farmer’s market there most weeks

  2. like four blocks. I don’t visit it super often. it has a dog park but my dog is… not as good with other dogs as I’d like.

  3. Down the street. It’s around a 10 min walk.

I live in San Francisco city and the park is a popular hangout spot on weekends with my friends as long as the weather is good. Picnicking with friends in Dolores Park is a signature SF activity.

  4. I mean, I live in the countryside but there’s a town park about a mile away and a town green in front of the post office. I’ve been to the park once but I like to walk a long loop around the green when I have business in the center of town.

  5. There’s one around the block from me. I can watch soccer games there from my back door. There’s another much larger riverside park about a half mile down the street.

  6. There’s one a block away. And many others within a few minutes in my suburban area. I do not visit them, the one nearest to me is a basketball court, a jungle gym, and a baseball field. The local parks are mostly for kids that live in the neighborhood. I am much more likely to take a drive to visit state parks or county parks.

  7. Less than a mile as the crow flies. Don’t go that often, unless I’m going to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival or Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts.

  8. I live in the middle of a national forest, does that count? Massive trail network is right at the end of my road. Tens of thousands of acres of land to play in.

  9. I looked it up on Google maps just for fun: 200 feet. my neighborhood is overrun with little kids riding little bikes to/around our park. it’s very sweet.

there are actually 6 parks within a 1/2 mile of me. (5 of them are small, but one is a pretty big park near a river)

  10. Um, if The Loop Trail is considered a public park maybe a block. Otherwise maybe a mile.

  11. There’s a park a mile from me, but we go to one that’s 2.5 miles always a lot more often. It’s up a hill and feels sort of rural up there. Our favorite is 3.5 miles away because it’s massive. I think they’re building one .75 miles form or so but it’ll be narrow.

  12. There are two in my neighborhood: a large one about a mile north, and a small one three blocks south. When I walk, I usually just go through the neighborhood, but sometimes I add a lap or two around the large park.

  13. Depends on what your personal opinion of a park is. I live across from a beach that is public land maintained by the park service, so is technically a park. I’m only blocks away from several other classic public parks. I visit use them often in my walks or if there are events.

  14. Maybe 100′ or 30 meters from my home. All the time. I like to feed birds and squirrels.

  15. Within walking distance, but it’s a splash pad for kids, so I don’t have any interest in going

  16. Two blocks down the hill, we have three of them designed by Frederick Olmstead, the same guy who designed Central Park in New York City. He designed something close to a 1000 parks around the country, I think.

Birmingham actually has almost 4,000 acres of public parks (1610 hectares) scattered throughout the city, including two sizable nature parks, all within the city limits.

  17. Lots of great parks in Boise, I walk the dog at them a lot. There’s probably about 6 or 7 within 2 miles of me.

  18. I have a few different public parks less than a 10 minute walk from me. All of them are very different (one had baseball fields and tennis courts, one had a playground and picnic tables, another is mostly open space and trails through some woods). I go pretty often in the nicer months since I live in an apartment with no outdoor space of my own.

  19. I have at least 3 within a few minute walk or a really quick bike ride. I’ll go daily. One is my closest beach access, and I probably walk over there every day.

  20. Walking distance, we have many in this city. But I go to Central Park mostly, once a week especially now that it’s autumn it’s perfect and cozy. It allows me to cool down and do some self reflecting.
