I was new in a school district and I used to walk up to band kids and join in their conversations, interrupting them. I thought we were cool but they told me not to join in their convos about band.

  1. No one is a social screw up, especially in HS when you were developing social skills. You might have came off a bit aggressive but just keep trying

  2. 90% of not being a social screwup in HS is acting like you know what you’re doing.

    In adulthood it’s still at least 50% image.
