How do you deal with missing someone?

  1. If they are alive I reach out, write a letter, call them.

If they are no longer alive then journal my feelings, go for a walk, talk to a friend.

  2. Dad (not my sperm donor – he died months before my birth) was the only member of my family I actually considered family, let alone loved one) died in 2003.

I still haven’t grieved. And the sad thing is that I doubt that I ever will.

Life goes on. But he is remembered. Snippets of conversation overheard in my day-to-day life. Photos. Items. I have a steamer trunk (large and fricking heavy) full of memories I open on the odd occasion.

Helps me keep his memory alive.
