High functioning men, what are you doing to be healthy and perform at peak levels?

  1. Weight lifting, running, drinking a lot of water, eating clean foods, including an abundance of vegetables

  2. I try to do smart shit. I don’t do dumb shit.

    Seriously, I’m constantly amazed at people doing obviously dumb shit. Getting plastered multiple times a week? That’s dumb shit. Starting fights as a grown ass adult? Dumb shit. Spending yourself into credit card debt on things you don’t need? Dumb shit. Being unreliable at your job? Dumb shit.

    Exercising? Smart shit. Eating well? Smart shit. Putting in a little extra time on something you know will impress your boss? Smart shit.

    I struggle with doing the smart shit some times. But I’m really good at avoiding dumb shit. That’s put me ahead of a whole lot more people than I thought it would.

  3. “high functioning men” is a hilarious turn of phrase. usually “High functioning” is paired with a disability of some sort. “High functioning Aspergers”, “high functioning alcoholic,” you get the point.

    Despite my shockingly acute disability of maleness, I try to eat right. So much of what we need our bodies to do rely on what we put into them.

  4. Make plans and to-do lists and preparations for whatever I can. Helps me mentally prepare and stay on top of my daily tasks.

  5. Stay committed and consistent, no skip days, no “I don’t feel like it today” days. Stop whining and do it.

  6. Working out, severely limiting drinking alcohol and coffee, making choices that benefit me rather than hurting me, not wasting time on toxic people.

  7. Faking it. I’m in shape, I look put-together, and I can sling around industry buzz words. But I’m tired as fuuuuuuuuuuuck.

  8. I exercise daily, remain mindful and work towards my goals. These are intrinsic and I’m doing them because I want to be the best version of myself.

  9. cardio, weight lifting, eat right, work hard to eliminate stress in your life, live a wholesome honest life. Youd be surprised what lying and guilt can do to your body.

  10. Getting a structured job with fixed hours and a HARD cutoff between work and personal time. Used to always burn myself out by never being able to “turn off”

    By having strict borders in my life, it got significantly easier

    I mostly do cardio, although I mix in some weight lifting.

    Regarding diet, I like intermittent fasting in the morning and loading up on veggies and a protein shakes for lunch and dinner, more veggies and protein (salads when I crave them). Water, water, water

    Believe it or not, you’ll save a bit of money when you’re not going out and buying junk food all the time. You can meal prep, but I enjoy cooking dinner (sometimes I’ll meal prep the night before if I have to marinate or chop up stuff)

    I swear 80% is eating right. As long as you do that, you are pretty good; working out is crazy beneficial, but not everyone has the time. Start at least 30 mins.

  12. I’m 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I’ll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
