I am finding it very difficult to make friends in my community especially now that I don’t have a campus to socialize on. I don’t live in the state I went to school and know no one here. I am in my mid 20’s and I have alway considered my spouse my best friend, but he works and I am finishing my schooling online. The only activities I can find are for teens, senior citizens and moms with young children, so I have no clue how people make friends honestly. I have looked for art groups that meet as I am an illustrator but have been unsuccessful. I am not looking for online friends as that has not been very meaningful in my personal experience. If anyone has any advice or knows of how I can make friends with other women my age I would really appreciate it.

  1. Are there any activities you’re interested in? Joining a rock climbing gym, yoga classes, etc is a great way to meet people 🙂

  2. You can use bumble for friends, it’s like a dating app but for friendships! I’ve never used it but I imagine it’s an easy way to make friends!

  3. Some ideas: adult ed classes (the in person kind, relating to more recreational subjects like photography, cooking etc.); volunteer work (important to look at the age range though, maybe at an animal shelter); professional club, political action group, volunteer behind the scenes for local community theater, take an improv class, adult recreational sports, go to the YMCA and see which classes attract people your age. Local coffee shot that has live music.

    Ya gotta start somewhere!
