I (25F) am so socially anxious and an over thinker AFTER covid. I was pretty much a social butterfly, happy and chirpy. I’ve lost ALL my social skills. Do you think volunteering (reception, cooking, cleaning) at a hostel with over 160 guests and 6 other volunteers will help? Does it also help in short term and long term friendships?

  1. I think that’s a great idea! Anything that allows you to interact and be around other people will help you get back into the swing of things and help ease some of your social anxiety. Potential friendships will really all depend on who you meet there, but you won’t know unless you try it out! 🙂

  2. Yeah, but you need to be focused and competent in volunteering for that to happen. Better yet, you need to establish yourself in that area and build a status or reputation of being good at volunteering. You aren’t going to make connections if you aren’t good at your job to begin with.

  3. That would be so fun!

There would be lots of new people coming through, a lot of people looking to talk to a local, lots of people living really cool lifestyles…
Seems like the best place for it
