I expect most of us have been through the Axe/Lynx phase in our younger days, and many like just plain old soap, but if you use shower gel, what do you use?

What brands or fragrances do you look out for?

  1. Irish Springs 20 in 1 baby. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, facial scrub, degreaser, stir fry sauce. This shit can do it all!!!

  2. I was using whatever was on sale at Costco, but I decided to treat myself to Cremo Blue Cedar & Cypress and have been using that for a couple years now. The scent is mild and doesn’t last long enough to conflict with my cologne, but I enjoy the scent in the shower. I’m still a big proponent of getting your main scent from your cologne, not your soap.

I also recently added Mando unscented oder blocking body wash that I use only on my undercarriage and feet. On a normal day it probably makes no difference, but on a sweaty day or if I skip a shower I like to think it helps me smell better for longer.

  3. Have to recommend Dr. Squatch, I’ve tried a bunch of different soaps and shampoos and they reign supreme. I feel the best with them, my wife likes the way I smell, and it’s a lot cooler than one of the run of the mill brands.

I also use the Manscaped ball cleaner and lotion to add an extra layer of preparation for the day.

  4. For body wash, they all seem the same. I use a Dial for men because it smells decent, comes in a pump bottle and last forever.

Then I use a Jack Black exfoliating scrub in my face. It leaves my skin smooth and knocks off the ashy-ness.

  5. Old Spice, the big pump jar. My wife made fun of it when I first bought it but she loves it now.

  6. I’m using a Nivea Men’s bodywash. I don’t remember which one specifically but it smells good enough and for a while I was buying 3 packs on a “subscription” from amazon. They would mail them out every couple months and I would get a discount for being subscribed.

  7. I’ve used a few and there’s not much difference imo. Harry’s and Method men have nice light scents, Nivea men maximum hydration worked well, I’m currently in the middle of a bottle of Goodline Grooming’s cedar and orange 3-in-1, which packs a nice punch of a scent.

  8. The Dove For Men gel in a big pump bottle. Smell is not wonderful but it washes right off when you rinse so you never smell it unless your actively using it. It does keep my skin from drying out.

  9. Defense. It’s targeted at those with an active lifestyle and has tea tree, eucalyptus, aloe. I like it a lot.

  10. I use Harry’s body wash and shampoo. The body wash from Costco. Lathers well, smells good but not overpowering. Doesn’t feel cheap, but isn’t fancy.

Recently tried Brickell shampoo thinking I’d treat myself, but it lathered horribly and at 4x the price and 1/2 the size was really not worth it. Also couldn’t get over a brand named for Miami, but claims to have Maine heritage, with an address of London on the bottle and text written in French. Guess they really spend more on marketing than product development…

  11. I use Dove for Men in the charcoal scent. I like that it’s not an over-powering; just a nice, clean fragrance.

  12. Mrs. Meyers Birchwood. I like the smell, definitely masculine but not cologne-like at all. I’ve only found it on the website but if you need household cleaners and body wash with nice smells it’s worth checking out.

  13. I usually use bar soap but if I’m getting seasonally itchy or something I like Aveeno to manage that

  14. Old spice gentleman blend or whatever it’s called. I like the coffee one the best.

  15. Duke Cannon Thick Body Wash

I rotate between Buffalo Trace, Productivity and Naval Diplomacy.

  16. Switched to Duke cannon bars a few years ago. I get soap bags for them on Amazon. The midnight swim scent is my favorite, but they’re all good. Do a bundle or build your own 4 pack so it’s cheaper. The bars last a while. They also have liquid body wash but I prefer the bars.
