How many of you got rejected for a job due to your looks/appearence?

  1. I’m not sure? I don’t think most employers would admit to something like this and make up a different reason instead.

  2. where i am from (germany) my turkish surname sure is a major reason for getting turned down

  3. Oh man, I’ve definitely been there. Sadly, appearance can sometimes play a role in the job-hunting game. I’ve had a few rejections where I’m pretty sure it had something to do with how I looked. It stings, no doubt about it. But the good news is, those rejections led me to find places where I was valued for who I am, not just how I look. So keep pushing, keep looking, and you’ll find your spot too!

  4. Not rejected, but fired. I worked at a party supply warehouse and was the only guy there and the women were obviously attractive and the manager was a dude and was constantly flirting/hitting on them. I was wonderful at the job but they accused me of stealing from the till (with no proof mind you as I ran my numbers every evening before close and was rarely if ever off). Came in to pick up my last paycheck and lo and behold there was a new hire; blonde with DDs.

    Their loss.

  5. I tried to get a job in one company a couple of days ago and hr told me, that men are not allowed to have long hair and if I am not willing to cut it, there is no point in interview. So I am unemployed still
