  1. Look up the fawning response in poly-vagal theory. Instead of fight/flight women tend to “fawn” when we feel survival stress. The behavior looks like people-pleasing, being overly agreeable, fitting-in, etc in order to keep the threat closer so it is less threatening. When we feel secure we can speak up, differentiate ourselves, and disagree. But we have to feel safe enough. Estrogen, progesterone and oxytocin play major roles in this – so try not to shame yourself or others. We have evolved this way because it has saved our lives. (Ex: flirting to get away from an attacker)
