Sorry, couldn’t think of a better sub to post this in but needed another pair of eyes…

So I was about to buy myself a new TV, this one:

https://www.currys.co.uk/products/lg-oled55c34la-55-smart-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-oled-tv-with-amazon-alexa-10248626.html

I then noticed it said you can get a free soundbar if you buy the TV in a bundle, so I found the bundle:

…and it doesn’t seem like some elaborate ruse/scam? Seems too good to be true, considering that soundbar is £399 on its own and the TV is 100% that price elsewhere. I guess I’m just hoping someone else could check this out and tell me I’ve missed something glaringly obvious before I order it?

  1. Pricespy say that model has been £200 cheaper than the current Currys price before so it seems about comparable to that deal – at least if you want the sound bar anyway.

  2. I assume ultra HD 4k is good? £1399 seems high af. I also don’t trust currys after a bad experience with a salesman. If HD 4K is good then fair enough but my 64 inch smart telly was like 600 quid 5 years ago

  3. Using Google shopping £1399 seems to be the standard price for the TV…even with LG directly.

A company called Yellow electronics seem to have it advertised at £1099. Do not know the company or what they are like etc.

Just make sure you are comparing like for like TVs.

The sound bar is a nice add on but make sure you qualify for it.

  4. They are both LG 55C3s which are great OLED TVs, I’d get if you can.

I’ve been using a 42C2 as a monitor and out of the box colour accuracy is great, you’d enjoy the C3.

  5. Same tv is 1200 from Costco, also unless the soundbar has atmos etc then it’s probably not worth it

  6. Can confirm you can read, the soundbar will be better than the TV speakers, even if such a fine TV deserves a better sound setup than even what you’ve got there!

OLED is a grade above, it’s no cult -48inch c1 owner

  7. I imagine there is some ‘fat’ in the standard TV price. So it probably isn’t anything unusual. The question is do you really want or need a sound bar or could you find just the TV itself somewhere else for a better price. John Lewis has it for 1399 too with a 100 e-gift

  8. I got a similar deal on the c1 with ao a couple of years ago. Free lg soundbar came with it, and the price was already discounted heavily.

At the end of the day, it’s currys. They’re mainstream, official, and trustworthy for buying from. If the price is the best you can find, go for it!
