I applied for an urgent passport through the UK’s premium service today, Oct 25th, and have got an appointment booked in for Oct 27th. Does anyone know what will happen if my photo is rejected? Will my appointment be moved back? And do the appointments usually run on time when you get to the passport office? Any insight you might have would be really helpful. Thanks!

  1. If you are that worried, go to a shop where you pay an extortionate amount (like snappy snaps) where they do it for you.

  2. Same day or 1 week service? 1 week they just make you take another photo in the photo booth in the waiting area.

Same day they print your passport in the morning, so I assume if you managed to get the AI to accept a bad photo, they just won’t print it and also make you take another photo. Then I don’t know if they can print the passport right away or you now have to come back the next day.

Appointments usually match the capacity, London office may be a bit slow. If London, turn up exactly on time, not early or late. Others are more flexible.

  3. I applied for a new passport using the standard process on 6 October and received it last Friday (20 October). No appointment necessary. I got a photo with a code from a booth in my local Post Office, I think that expedites things because the photo is verifiable. Did you do it that way or just upload a selfie?
