I’m curious to know if it’s a dealbreaker for you if your significant other knows the exact day of your birthday, didn’t forget on the day of, sends memes instead, and later tells you that they usually like to wish people happy birthday. If you answered no so far, does your answer change if this person also hangs out with friends when they could’ve celebrated with you and fails to bring promised gifts? What are some other dealbreakers? For those who don’t wish happy birthday to significant other while knowing they care about it, why this approach?

  1. Personally, if it is my significant other’s birthday and I do not have prior engagements such as work or school then I will dedicate the day to spending time with them, even if we don’t do anything too special.

  2. Ofcourse it’s a dealbreaker, my standards need to be in hell for this to be acceptable behavior.

My other dealbreakers are my SO being an absolute dick who doesn’t wish me on my bday or atleast try to spend time with me

  3. Yes it’s a deal breaker for me. Birthdays are important to me and I try (and succeed) at making people feel special for theirs so I expect it in return, at least the effort.
