I used to be 300 lbs and once I started losing weight so many people Ive met or come across tell me I look like someone and it’s usually a different person each time. In high school a teacher said I look like Jason Segel, in college I would get David Dobrik multiple times a day. Like no joke I was in line once at chipotle and someone behind me told me I looked like David Dobrik and then when I got to the end of the line and I’m paying out the Cashier said the same thing lol it was too much. My friends and their parents even called me David or DobNick. Then Covid hit and I wasn’t really compared to anyone for a while until recently. Over the past month I’ve gotten Ryan Gosling and Chris Zylka from my sister (literally what?), Josh Allen from my Bf, Jim Carey and Woody (Toy Story) from coworkers, and specifically Ben Wyatt from parks and Rec by a random server lol (ouch. Plus I’m from MN too lmao) then my bf has also been saying if I were muscular and had a fancy haircut I would be in every movie cuz I have a “Hollywood” face. But then I also have multiple friends who say they see me as just a being. No gender or sexuality. I just exist. Like there’s no sexual or romantic vibes around me lol and I’ve been told I’m good at sex and tbh my body count ain’t low lol For context I’m a very gay semi-masc man. Wtf does any of this mean?!?

  1. If I had to say who I looked like I’d say I have Jason and David’s eyes, Chris Zylkas Jawline, but I look most similarly to Josh Allen I think. At work tho I do my hair like a Mormon lmao so I definitely look like Woody at work.

  2. I’ve been told “you just look like an actor” whatever that means. I guess it’s a vibe or a style thing, idk. I get what you’re saying.

  3. Looking similar to a famous person doesn’t mean attractive. I’m not saying you’re ugly – there’s obviously no way of me even knowing that – but like the other person said, famous people aren’t always attractive. So all they mean is that you look like someone.

  4. I used to get that a lot. I won’t say the celebrities I was usually compared to, but honestly, I thought it was amusing.

I would just smile and say, “Yeah, I’ve heard that before,” and usually people would let it go.
