People do it with roommates.
You’re confusing relationships with living together, which is not always the case.
A relationship while living separated is actually more expensive because not only you have to support yourself, you also have to put money in date nights, tokens of love and appreciation, etc…
Also, don’t forget about the many real perks of relationships, in no specific order:
* Loving someone and being loved
* Emotional connection with someone
* Emotional support (which you seem to be in dire need of)
* Sex
* Having fun
* Having a best friend, someone you can share your life and life experiences with
* And certainly many more
If you don’t care about cuddling, kisses, laughter, having fun doing activities together, having someone to emotionally help when times are rough, then sure I guess there aren’t many perks lol.
A lot of my friends have roommates. It’s basically just a financial relationship.
