I have a few memes I originally liked that are virtually unrecognisable because mainstream did it’s thing. Does anyone feel the same? and tell me which memes.

  1. Those advice animal things. I remember when it was just the puppy giving bad advice, but then suddenly it was a mean looking duck with like 4 paragraphs of text about the state of American politics, or Kermit drinking tea with 20 lines about the Republicans.

  2. Pepe went from just being “feels good man” to a basic permutation “feels bad man” to pretty much absolutely everything having a pepe/apu/groyper/etc permutation.

  3. Grew up in a coastal town. Played lawn bowls to spend time with my grandfather.. lot of the old guys were ex navy or ex merchant navy.

    Sea shantys.. specifically wellerman.. I cant listen to that song anymore because its been memed to shit.

    Its an 1800s new zealand whaling song..

  4. I just really like the Batman Arkham games. What happened to that sub was a travesty akin to 500 Hindenburg blimp explosions.
