I sometimes don’t know what to say and conversations will fall flat. How can I avoid this?

  1. – Pay attention to the other’s non verbal communication.
    – Don’t be afraid of silence sometimes.

  2. Most great conversationalists use a technique called conversation threading. It’s where you pick one particular word from what the other person said and either form a question or mention anything related to the topic.

In case you can’t continue the topic of conversation, always have general back up questions to ask. That way you don’t get stuck in that awkward silence mid convo that kills the energy.

  3. 1. is it necessary? is it true? is it kind?
    2. if you don’t have anything kind to say then don’t say anything at all

  4. -Eye contact will non verbally bond you with the person. -Listen carefully and try to engage, without interrupting.

  5. Can you provide more details?
Before falling flat, how does a normal conversation of yours look like?

What type of things do you talk about? Is it one question after another? Are you constantly thinking what to ask next? Are you enjoying yourself/having fun?
