I like Smirnoff, Finlandia is nice as well – I bought a small bottle of it in a duty-free before flying back from somewhere.
Can relate heavily with the shitty vodka + random fizzy drink + park combo. One time someone was feeling boujee and decided to bring a weird variant of Absolut, which had a rectangular and orange coloured bottle. I tried a few sips neat and it was interestingly flavoured in a good way and tasted a bit fancier than the usual hand sanitizer taste. Definitely better and more giftable than belvedere and grey goose, which are the only other fancy vodkas I’ve tried.
I’ll update if I can find out the name, but I hope the description helps in case you already know what it is
If you want some flavour in your vodka [Żubrówka](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%BBubr%C3%B3wka) is a treat. Either straight or with a cloudy Copella apple juice.
Stoli red label is the best generally aviable in the UK IMO. The higher vodkas tend to filter too much which means it tastes of nothing. Runner up is Smirnoff Black Label but I don’t think it’s sold in the UK anymore.
Chopin is very nice if you want something special and I’ve heard very good things about Chase.
Chase is a good British brand. It’s a potato Vodka (I think the owner used to make crisps).
Tiptree (the jam people) have a vodka too, though I’ve never tried it.
I’m trying to remember the names of others. I normally get some for myself/as gifts from Christmas/farmers type markets – need to pay more attention to names.
Personally, smirnoff raspberry vodka with lemonade.
If you squeeze a lime wedge in it, it tastes like a jelly baby!
Skyy vodka. Smooth taste. If I was at house parties I used to bring Russian Standard.
I really like crystal skull vodka, partly because of the bottle but I do really like the taste as well. I must add I am not a vodka expert though!
I’m have a buddy that practically used to live in Russia half of the year because of work and he swears by Russian Standard Vodka’s name.
It’s not expensive and readily available but in his opinion the nicest vodka to drink straight.
Personally, I am like you, only ever have vodka in cocktails and mixers.
Nemiroff vodka is the one I’ve always preferred.
Their extra smooth ones smash Grey Goose out of the park as well, for a fair bit cheaper.
Stolichnaya. The bottle is Soviet retro, love it.
Beluga noble and snow Queen
Doesn’t matter after the first couple
Higher end – grey goose.
Lower end but good quality – Russian standard.
Ciroc for cocktails and mixers.
Absolut Peppar for shots or the unbranded vodka they sell under the counter at the local Polish deli.
Black shuck do some quality vodkas
Crystal Head Vodka tastes rather special – and comes in a cool bottle too.
Ketel one.
Holy Grass vodka is good, I’m not a vodka person but I bought it for my mum as I love their gin – Rock Rose – and I was surprised by how nice it was.
Best vodka I ever had was some cheap shit but with a drop of some strawberry syrup type stuff that some polish pals I had were getting me tanked up on….i normally don’t really like vodka but that strawberry stuff made it delicious.
Stolichnaya Elit used to be my favourite but I’ve not really drunk in ages, much preferred it to Grey Goose.
