I’ll bring the regular oven baked turkey. Someone braver can use the deep fryer.

  1. I mix up a mean Cranberry Collins. Cranberry-infused gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and club soda.

  2. I can make a pretty good pitcher of grog. 1 part hot water with either brown sugar or molasses dissolved into it, 1 part fresh squeezed lime juice (or from a bottle if doing large scale), and one part a good rum. Serve with a sprinkle of nutmeg and a stick of cinnamon. You can also put the peel from the squeezed limes in the glass. Adds a bit of flavor but mostly it’s just some additional decoration to make the glass look good.

The iced version of grog is nice in the summer, but for a cold-weather drink, the hot grog is delicious.

  3. A side dish of roasted Brussels sprouts, bacon, cranberries, and pecans.

From this recipe if anyone is interested: juliasalbum.com/brussels-sprouts-and-bacon/

  4. Oyster stuffing, I don’t know why, but every single year, that is the one dish I look forward to

  5. Green bean casserole but home made not canned garbage.

Oyster and shittake mushrooms sautéed in bacon fat then incorporated into a bechemel with caramelized onions and fresh steamed green beans. Topped with buttermilk soaked deep fried onion straws.

  6. I’ve got a green bean casserole made from bacon grease and cheese. I do not use that cream of mushroom soup stuff.

  7. Baked potato casserole

Chop up potatoes (either six gianormous ones, or like a dozen smaller ones…it’s not always easy to get the right sized potatoes), salt, pepper and oil, mix em up so they’re lightly coated, and cook em in the oven for 45 mins at 350°.

Cut up bacon bits, fry em up in the pan whilst cooking the potatoes (original recipe calls for a lb, but I’m a glutton and felt it’s a better mix if there’s 1.5-2lbs instead, but they have to be sliced small bc one time they were too big and it was like eating heaps if bacon with some potatoes lol)

Grease casserole dish. Dump in hot potatoes, bacon bits, sour cream, mix together. Layer on top with cheddar cheese. Bake for additional 20 mins. Garnish with chives and good to go!

    It reheats well, too.

  8. Sweet potatoes, mashed with orange juice, cloves, cinnamon, and butter (lots of butter) added. Placed in a bowl with marshmallows arranged on top and baked. Pure heaven.
