Your friends may simply see you as someone who wouldn’t want to engage in such an activity, because they’ve noticed that it makes you uncomfortable. Wrong conclusions happen all of the time, often with the best of intentions.
I’d recommend reaching out to a friend whom you really trust and share how you feel. If they’re really your friend, they’ll likely be more than understanding and willing to support you.
