Hello Reddit.

I am writing this post in hopes of receiving an advice and also and explanation of behavior.

I am currently a student and living in a Dorm room and I think that someone is speaking behind my back negatively about me since every time I meet a new person (especially female ) we hit it off pretty good and all of a sudden that person gets cold and distant. They no longer want to talk and any attempts at talking will be met with the cutting of the conversation.

I think that someone is talking behind my back (and I have a clue on who that might be) saying bad things about me which is lowering my reputation causing disgust and fear in another person (females especially).

Can someone please advise me on how can I prevent this and improve my reputation.

Yours

  1. Yes , dorm drama – it’s like a soap opera but with more textbooks and less budget!
Let’s put on our detective hats and consider if there’s really a gossip gremlin in your midst or if it’s just a series of awkward social missteps.
Sometimes, people drift apart faster than socks disappear in a laundry room, and it might not be anyone’s fault.

If you suspect someone’s been spreading rumors, the best defense is a good offense – and by offense, I mean charm and honesty, not a water balloon ambush.
Start by strengthening your relationships with others.
Be the person everyone knows as friendly, helpful, and as reliable as Wi-Fi in the library during finals.
This way, even if someone tries to spread rumors, your actions will speak louder than their words.

And here’s a cheeky tip from [BigPapa’s Epic Tips ](https://bigpapa.pro/category/bigpapas-epic-tips/) communicate directly. If you think someone’s been bad-mouthing you, consider having a calm and respectful conversation with them. It could be as simple as, “Hey, I feel like there might be some misunderstandings between us. Can we clear the air?” You’d be surprised how often people are willing to reset and start fresh.

Finally, remember that college is a buffet of personalities – not everyone will click, and that’s okay. Keep being your awesome self, and you’ll find your tribe. Keep your spirits high, your coffee stronger, and your conversations as engaging as a mystery novel. You’ve got this!
