I’ve heard that amazon and costco sell them for pretty cheap and I’ve seen comments online of people buying a bunch to keep in stock just in case. This is most likely the reason here too. If you already have some at home, then it’s a lot easier to take one asap.
Depending on the dose, it’s likely Plan B (as it’s called here in the US). It’s the morning after pill should one be worried that they may run the risk of becoming pregnant (eg broken condom). It’s possible it’s a few left over birth control pills….but that’s not too likely.
I actually have a few old packs of birth control lying around. Women typically fill multiple boxes of pills at once. If you are part way through your Rx and your doctor prescribes you a different pill, you might forget to take the old ones back to the pharmacy.
It could also be emergency packs of plan B.
This is like asking why someone might have two epipens isn’t it? It seems obvious that if you know you take one at a time they don’t *have* to sell them one at a time (and even if they do, someone can go to a few pharmacies pretty easily).
