Hi, without getting into it too much, my friend separated from her partner a couple of months ago and was dealing with lots of verbal abuse over this period, as he wanted her back, while he was with another girl (the grass isn’t greener on the other side) and she was struggling to deal with it, she finally stood up to him and told him she didn’t want anything to do with him romantically and he can still be there for their child but not her. Since then, several men have gone to her house early in the morning at different times, saying they were meeting someone for a date ( presumably her ) and we believe it is her ex doing this. I have advised her to contact the police as this occurs when her child is in the house and is potentially dangerous. Any advice is appreciated.

  1. She can go to the police to complain someone is impersonating her and sending strangers to her house under false pretenses. It probably constitutes a form of identity theft.

Pragmatically, she could put up a sign on her porch/gate/door explaining the situation: someone malicious is impersonating her on dating apps to send strangers at her door, presumably to either disrupt her peace, or hoping one of them might assault her when rejected. She apologize profusely to anyone who got catfished, police has been warned. If they can spare a moment, sending screenshots of conversations with the impersonator at a dedicated email address could help build up evidence.
