A few versus in religious texts suggesting giving away 10%, this is sort of the foundation for taxing income. So what would it take for you to agree to sign away 10% of all your future income?

Full-ride college scholarship? Up-front investment in a business? The guarantee of a bed and a meal if you fail?

  1. Well, I’m almost forty and gainfully employed despite being a community college dropout, and I’m making six figures. I’d be donating a grand a month.

Personally, I could go for some opium and a couple visits from a mid-tier prostitute per month.

  2. No, that’s not the foundation for taxing income. Charity and taxation are very different things. One is by choice, the other is by threat.

  3. Not happening, I’m of the strong opinion that tax is theft, when the money is used incorrectly and doesn’t benefit me or my fellow citizens.

Tax is theft when it lines the pockets of the politicians, tax is theft when it goes the the European Union of lies and deception, which on fuck us over time and time again.

  4. Hmmm…a loaded gun pointed at my head? Jokes aside, I always followed the “give until it hurts” rule. I don’t keep track of the percentage, but I have given money to individuals who needed it (big money) as well as The Church.

I won’t concede any more money to government than I have to. I’m already in the top tax bracket, and my tax dollars are mostly mismanaged.

  5. A less exploitive government, since mine already takes over 40% and uses that money to ruin the country.
