My brother and I will be arriving in the UK in just over a weeks time, from Australia. Are we allowed to bring over medicines that don’t have a prescription such as Imodium, Paracetamol, Ibuprofen and Ventolin? I cannot find a link online that says whether Over the Counter/Off the Shelf medicines need extra documentation, and I can only find stuff pertaining to prescription medicines.

  1. No problem. Over the counter stuff tends to be very cheap here though so don’t bring a massive stash

  2. Absolutely fine but there cheap enough hear especially paracetamol so I personally wouldn’t bother

  3. You can’t buy ventolin without a prescription here. You can bring a ventolin/inhalers across.
Everything else mentioned is relatively cheap here, but there is a restriction on the amount you can purchase at one time with paracetamol and brufen.

  4. They’re available over the counter here (apart from Ventolin, someone says), so why would you need to bring them with you?
