I often feel lonely when I don’t have social plans on Friday or Saturday evening. It almost feels like I should have social plans EVERY Friday and Saturday evening because I might miss something and that really stresses me out. I am less stressed about no social plans during the week and usually enjoy my own company. But on weekends it doesn’t really seem to work. Do you know this as well?

  1. I know people say go to the gym constantly on here but that’s exactly what I do. It’s the least crowded on weekends and it just lifts my mood afterwards. If I didn’t do that I’d be smoking weed alone in my house.

I am trying to work up the courage to do other things on my own tho. Go walk my dogs at the park, go to the skatepark, catch a movie, go to a bar, and possibly go to a restaurant by myself. But I’m not ready for that just yet.

  2. Hm, I play some shooters, or dream of being a f1 driver lol. Watch anime, basically just waste time alone. I don’t really mind I guess. A while back my roommate had a puppy and I used to take her for long walks on the weekends, and give her a shower afterwards. Looking back, interacting with other dog owners at the park made it less lonely. After she left I am back at square 1

  3. Gym is your easiest option
The next option is probably find a meet-up group (if you live in a big city). They have events planned like boardgames, open mics, etc with complete strangers which might be fun

  4. I tend to go on solo date if I don’t have plan with anyone lol I would go volunteering, visit all the coffee shops that I wanted to go, explore new grocery stores or just have my day-in reading and gaming. Basically, enjoy my own company.

Don’t stress out too much! You’re busy stressing out instead of doing things. I find planning a couple days ahead actually help me get out of the house more cause I don’t have to worry about where to go or what to do on the those certain days.

  5. Know exactly how you feel. So frustrating! But are there any groups you could join? Like writers’ groups, amateur dramatic groups etc? They could be busy on weekends and you could meet new folk.🌷
