Am I overthinking this?

I met this guy let’s call him Peter about 6.5 years ago over bumble. We had a great time when we met but then things happened on his end and he got back with his gf and he told me he couldn’t keep talking to me but he never ghosted me.

We stayed friends over instagram and that was that. Then this past June we mutually started to like and comment on each others posts/ stories and started to run together.

Went to a couple of dinner spots and a museum. We’ve been hooking up since August pretty frequently. The last spot we went to dinner, he actually kissed me at the restaurant which he had never done that outside in public. Totally caught me off guard.

He likes to travel and was planning a big trip outside of the country. Since I was traveling to the same area he asked me if I wanted to come along. I joined and he’s been very open and intimate even kissing in public and always hug and touching my arm or leg in public (basically boyfriend behavior).

I’ve always liked him and being around him. And decided to ask what are we doing what is “us” and he said he’s not looking for anything for now. I asked could this become something in the future and he said maybe. He ended with saying I know we are going to be a part of each others lives for a very long time. He also said I’m a very important person to him.

I overthink everything. But now I can’t get my mind off of this. Is there something I should say or do. I just feel like he gets me on so many levels and I would love to just try and have something with him. Idk where to go from here.
