I enjoy getting them, but I don’t send them, so I’ve come to terms with it rarely happening.
Letters in the mail are mostly a thing of the past. But my card writing for occasions is a skill I’m very happy I’ve worked on. Everybody LOVES the cards I write. I can tell it’s genuinely meaningful but I also put a lot of intention into it
I enjoy letter writing and sending it in the mail. My handwriting fails me though
Not to my mom
I have two great snail mail penpals I found over at [r/penpalsover30](https://old.reddit.com/r/penpalsover30/). We’ve been going strong since the pandemic.
I used to send lots of postcards, but I don’t think I’ve written an actual letter in a decade.
Not if you’re in your 50s, or if you’re Amish. Otherwise, pretty much, yeah.
I just bought a card and wrote an encouraging message inside for a guy tonight at church. I snuck it under his bible and hope it brings a smile. I’m also giving some cards to folks. Some I have their address, others I’ll just hand it to them. I love words of affirmation so I’m inclined to do this for others knowing and hope they find a small joy in it.
I am all about mailing letters and cards.
* Whenever I’m traveling separately from my wife (i.e., for work) I write her a letter and mail it every morning.
* Whenever I’m traveling in general (work or pleasure) I usually send a lot of postcards to friends and family.
* My wife and I have gotten into the habit of writing thank you cards for everyone who gives us things/experiences, even seemingly small things. It’s a nice way for us to practice gratitude and to remind our friends we appreciate them.
We have also realized that we’ll almost never get mail back from anyone. But keep it up, and don’t let it dampen your spirit too much!
Am a woman (33) and I love it and still do. I love sending postcards and hand written letters.
If it’s not common then that can be a good thing. It means that when you do put pen to paper and write someone a note/letter/card then it’s more special and shows you’ve actually put thought into it.
I love my stub nib fountain pens and I also like doing some calligraphy (though I’m not very good at it), I don’t ever write anyone a handwritten letter or card but maybe I should now that I’ve seen this thread.
