You can see things when you look for them, like how East Germans very much so are not thrilled about anything like mass surveillance, and how the number of irreligious people I’m Eastern Germany and Czechia are so high as a fraction of the people. But in daily life, what do you see as remaining differences? Trams I guess being more common perhaps.

I know Albania left the Warsaw Pact, Romania was independent of the Soviets and even vetoed Mongolia’s ascension to the Warsaw Pact, Austria and Sweden and Norway were neutral and not Western, and the Yugoslavians were the other kind of neutral but socialist, but just fit them into these splits.
