Im a gay male foreigner living in the US and my ex bf there used to call me ‘bub’. I always thought it was short for ‘babe’. So Ive been seeing this guy (nothing official), I think we’ve seen each other maybe 5 times since we met around november. I haven’t heard from his since last time I saw him almost 2 weeks ago, and Im now out of the country visiting my family. He responded to my jnsta story and went like this:
– “aww so pretty, have fun on your trip!”
I responded with:
– “aaw thanks bub :)”
he never responded, which could be nothing to respond to. But then I decided to look up bub for the first time and seems like in america it can actually be an insulting name? did I accidentally insulted him and should correct it?
