Title basically; as an American, I can tell the difference between different accents in the UK, basically. I imagine it wouldn’t be hard for a British person to recognize a southern accent or some of the more distinct accents like NYC, Boston, Chicago, etc. But I am curious about non-english speaking countries? For example, I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between a North or South German accent without training, which I imagine is trivial for a native German speaker.
