Long story short, me (23F) and my ex (28M) were together for 4+ years and had a great relationship. We ended on good terms; our life paths were just too different and we endured some trauma together that ultimately tore us apart. It was a mutual ending and for me, there are absolutely no romantic feelings left for him. We broke up at the beginning of this year.

Fast forward to October; I start seeing someone new (22M) who works in my city seasonally but returned to his home country for the off season. He asked me for exclusivity before he left and I agreed.

A couple days ago, I got a random package in the mail addressed to me… coming from the city in which my ex lives. He’s never tried to contact me/text me/call me before but somehow I just knew it was from him. I open it up and it’s a box of expensive chocolates (over $100 worth) and a christmas card. It read “Merry Christmas, I hope everything is well. Love, (Ex’s Name)”.

It was so baffling to me. I didn’t know what to think of it. I told some of my friends and their reactions were the same. Some of them thought maybe he wanted me back. I texted him a quick thank you and never responded to his next message.

I’m wondering if the right thing to do is to tell my current partner about it? Or if I should just let this go under the rug and die? I don’t want to intentionally make my new bf feel insecure or jealous especially where he isn’t even in this country right now but I also don’t want to “hide” anything I shouldn’t.

Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?

tldr: my ex sent me $100+ worth of chocolate and a christmas card and i wanna know if i should tell my now boyfriend about it
