Example scenario might be a waitress coming up and saying to your group, “okay boys what would you like to order?” Or one of your wife’s nodding appreciatingly in your direction, “the boys are having fun aren’t they?”
Do your feelings change if the woman is older or younger than you? What if they were addressing you as a singular boy? Like in “you naughty boy” but maybe also in the third person like “that boy is my favorite person”
