If you aren’t resident in your country but you are citizens of it, what do you do when an election happens for that country you have citizenship with?

France has designated constituency seats for those people, as does Italy.

Good idea?

And regardless, do you actually vote in such elections and if so, how does campaigning work for them and what do you vote based on?
