Long story short, he’s a doctor and my mom works the front desk at a clinic. He asked her to bend a rule and she didn’t, so he called a meeting of all of the staff to berate and lecture her on following his orders (he’s not the owner, just a doctor that works there) in front of everybody.
So if anyone talks shit to my mom like that they go on my dead-to-me list at the minimum. I feel like getting in his face about being so rude and mean but I don’t want to make a big deal and awkward situation because we get invited to the same family parties. And we’d often hang out and socialize as we have things in common. What’s the classy but appropriate way to handle this? I don’t feel right talking to him like everything is cool.
