I read once that this was a stereotype about Texans, that they will frequently say they’re from “the great state of Texas”, but I was watching a video yesterday and the guy said that he was from “the great state of Kansas”. Could it be that he was just poking fun at Texans, or do Americans from other states also say the same thing?
