I got into an argument with a British friend of mine who insists Doctor Who (and British television in general) isn’t popular in the States. I thought it was. So, which is it? Am I wrong? Is it more a cult following in the States or is it a sizable fanbase?
And as a follow-up, what about shows like Sherlock and Downtown Abbey? Are they popular too?
