Is it true your allowed to move deep within forests hundreds of acres away from civilization?

I watched a few off grid videos of people going deep into Alaska and Maine and just… doing whatever they want. How do local forest protection agencies react to that? Is it something anybody can do with money? does the government just stay out of your way?
